Times of Crisis, Save Money By Lowering Your Fuel Consumption

In these times of international economic crisis, it has become more important saving all the fixed costs such as gasoline. Here is a list of points to be followed to ensure lower fuel consumption:

A) Check the pressure levels of your tires. Over-inflation of your tires reduces your efficiency in gasoline consumption.

B) The cost of a pitch is usually much less than the cost of excess fuel consumption of a vehicle not in tune. Ecology also will thank you, sharpen your vehicle.

C) In standard vehicles, change of "speed" with low RPM's. We tend to keep the "speed" to build up acceleration, but this tends to force the engine performance and spends a lot more fuel.

D) When travel, plan each route to take, the difference in fuel consumption can be large.

E) Regulate the acceleration of your vehicle. To boot after a "high" speed in excess causes the high RPM's, which is bad, but once begun to move slowly is even worse.

F) In the remote case you expect the train to pass, you know you'll be waiting longer than 5 minutes, turn off your engine.

Follow these simple points, is a good start, but if you're about to buy a vehicle, check its specifications, the efficiency of the engine fuel consumption you cannot improve, so choose well.

Want to Save on your Car Insurance

Have you compared prices and offers on the market? If your answer is no, you should do it as soon as possible. So the first step to save time is to compare prices and coverage. Like when we ask different budgets to hire a service, so does our car insurance. If you didn’t know, all insurers offer different prices for the same coverage, since each has their own way of calculating the risks and set their prices.
That a car insurance is cheap, does not mean that the coverage and service are of poor quality, but features such as your driver and your car can be expensive for some companies price and lower for others.

We already have several offers in our power (between three and five is the most recommended) so we can decide taking into account some important details.

As you know, policies extended to third parties or third are cheaper than all-risk policies, as they include basic coverage. When you choose to think that it is always best to opt for the more expensive policy and most complete, you have to take into account the age of your car. Until three years old is more than advisable to hire a blanket insurance policy, given that there is a total loss, theft or fire. Besides the basic package of comprehensive insurance, each company has very specific coverage that can be added additionally. You can even assess the option of maintaining this type of policy to four years.

The most profitable from the fourth year of your automobile policy is to hire a third expanded to include coverage against breakage of glass or theft, although a bit expensive price, it can be very interesting.

Perhaps you are wondering, what do I do if I am young and full insurance is expensive for my profile? A good way to save is to opt for comprehensive insurance with excess. This system allows you to set an amount you will pay if an accident occurs and the insurer will provide the balance. Thus, the final price is greatly reduced and you can enjoy a policy with the coverage you need. This option can also be used in third-party insurance.

Finally, we recommend that you be alert about deals offered by some companies, either through payment or through price cuts, according to your behavior as a driver. For example, in the case of young people there are certain companies that offer lower prices unless the driver uses the car during certain hours of the night.

However, as consumers know, it is natural that every company will promote its products.

When this happens, motorists who are looking for a safe stay in a situation where they must choose to believe in the first company that comes in front of them, or spend countless hours comparing each plan of coverage, conditions, fees, special provisions, requirements, and so on.

By choosing the first option, we retain our valuable time to devote to other activities more important or profitable, knowing that it is possible that the choice we have taken may not be the best in terms of costs, or maybe we could have found a more complete coverage ... but with so many activities that demand our attention, this is an acceptable alternative, although not optimal.

If we choose to do a detailed comparison of the plans offered by all insurers with whom our paths will cross, we shall probably have a very complete vision of what we really need, and which company better responds to those needs. However, looking back, we spent a very large number of hours, and unless the objective is to become an insurance agent, all information gathered and analyzed will not be helpful, as they also know that the policies are constantly changing and would have to perform this task again and again.

Ensure the correct installation of a remanufactured engine

Investing in a remanufactured engine can become a nightmare if it is not installed properly, so it is vital spare no resources in training and technical training necessary for proper installation.

INSTALLING THE MOTOR

There are several systems that are important to review perfectly when installing a remanufactured engine:

• Cooling System
• Lubrication System
• Fuel Supply System
• Engine Computer
• Major Pitch
• Other (oil pan, intake manifold cover distribution)

COOLING SYSTEM

Radiator

The radiator is the most important element of the cooling system. Without a periodic change of antifreeze chemicals, water adheres to the inner walls restricting the flow and preventing the radiator to cool properly. Depending on the severity of the damage, should be sent to probe the radiator, soldering or replacement.

Radiator cap

Responsible for maintaining pressure in the cooling system, and when it is weak or defective, it reduces the boiling point, causing overheating and, consequently, damage to the newly installed engine. This is all to replace the radiator cap with a new one.

Water Pump

A water pump that is not working properly, obviously causes engine overheating. Failures are very common in the pump seal, a bad bearing or gear damage. The recommendation here is to always replace the water pump for a new one.
Thermostat, belts, hoses, fan, other

The key is to replace the thermostat installing the correct type for the vehicle in order to take temperature measurements suitable for your engine, replace belts and hoses at the slightest sign of toughness, replace the fan if there are bent or broken blades, or if the fan mechanism is damaged.

Check for obstructions in the Exhaust System (manifold, exhaust, muffler, catalytic converter). Check also the Emission Control System, including the EGR valve, which is recommended to be replaced at the slightest doubt about its function. An EGR valve that is not operating properly can lead to problems of detonation and / or pre-ignition.

Notes on the Thermostat

The function of a thermostat is to prevent water from flowing into the engine while it has not reached its operating temperature, according to the manufacturer's specifications. When the engine temperature approaches its operating temperature (normally 80 º C), the thermostat starts to open allowing a little water to mix with hot water and start the cooling process. When the engine is fully heated, the thermostat opens fully, controlling the speed of water circulation.

When the gas engine works below 80 º C, the pistons and valves are filled with white deposits by oil nitration. Running an engine below its operating temperature requires in turn to excessive consumption of fuel, which causes damage to valves, rings and in the catalytic converter, among other components.

LUBRICATION SYSTEM

Oil Pump and Strainer

The pump and oil strainer must be new if you install a remanufactured engine. (sometimes it is impossible to fully clean a strainer).

Arrow Oil Pump

Some of them are heavy and made of forged steel, others have very small diameters and therefore wear out, bend and break more easily. An arrow worn can damage not only its own gear, but also the gear pump. Do not risk a remanufactured engine for wanting to save a few dollars. Replace the arrow, always.

Oil Cooler

Optional accessory, it is a small radiator which is in the midst of the oil and is located either within the main radiator of the vehicle or in front of it. Well, it must be purged and cleaned to prevent passage of dirty oil to the engine.

FUEL SUPPLY SYSTEM

Carburetor

A faulty carburetor can cause a rich mixture of air-fuel, which results in damage to the engine. On the other hand, if there is dirt off fuel and charge on the shaft of the butterfly, we get a lean air-fuel which could cause explosions. For these reasons, it is vitally important to repair and / or replacing the carburetor when installing your remanufactured engine.

Fuel Injection System

A leak in an injector causes a rich mixture of fuel-air which, as already discussed, damages the engine. By contrast, a clogged or worn nozzle will cause a lean fuel which eventually results in explosions. Obtain similar results with a fuel pressure regulator into disrepair. And a leaking seal will cause a lean mixture of fuel and the respective detonation. Again, it is of utmost importance to ensure that the injection system is, as a whole, functioning correctly.

Mechanical Fuel Pump

A break in the diaphragm of the fuel pump could cause the fuel diluting the engine oil. And a worn pump causes engine knock which can be confused with an aim defective. At the slightest sign of failure, it is always best to wait to replace pump failure in the engine.

Engine Sensors

It tells the computer how to control time, fuel flow, air flow, etc.. As well as ensure efficient combustion, and therefore should be reviewed carefully and repair or replace:

• Oxygen sensor in the exhaust
• Temperature Sensor Air Intake
• Coolant temperature sensor

ENGINE COMPUTER

Connectors should be checked and ground connections, the list of error codes present at that time, the correct operation of the advance of time, the order of ignition and fuel injection itself, the proper functioning of the computer in general .

TUNING MAJOR

We recommend making a pitch higher, checking and repairing or replacing components include:

• Spark
• Distributor Cables / spark plug wires
• Distributor Cap
• Distributor Rotor
• Distributor Arrow
• Mechanical advance distributor Springs
• Fuel Filters & Air

OTHER

Accessories small or large, cast or stamped must be cleaned and installed perfectly: oil pan, intake manifold, distribution cap, caps lifters, oil filter adapter. It is vital a successful installation of packaging in general.

How Change Antifreeze In Your Vehicle

Antifreeze is essential for the proper functioning of our engine, as it helps prevent the formation of iron oxide that forms plugs in the radiators, in this would damage the water pump, causing the valves to act on the fan causing overheating.

It is advisable to change the antifreeze every 2 years or every 40,000 miles, because at that time this loses anti-corrosive qualities.

Here we will check some steps to be able to change the antifreeze in your car.

1 .- Wait until your car is completely cold.

2.-The radiator has two hoses, one is at the bottom and one on the top, they have braces, loosen them and carefully remove the hose from the bottom.

3 .- In a bowl, drain all the coolant. Once drained all the coolant, flush the system, it is necessary to remove any sediment. We recommend that with a garden hose, fill with water the machine via the same hose to be removed, until the water runs clear. To clean the coolant reservoir, cap off and fill it with water until it runs clear.

4 .- When it is clean, put the cap on the coolant reservoir. Fill the radiator with new antifreeze.

5 .- Turn on your car for a few minutes, carefully because the engine is warm and running. Check the coolant level in the tank, if needed, fill it until you reach your level. Make sure it doesn’t leak. Check that the coolant is dispersed throughout the cooling system.

NOTE: Check that when you're doing the procedure, there are no children or pets around the antifreeze because in its components, it has highly poisonous chemicals such as ethylene glycol, and drinking this causes serious health damage.

The Good Thing About Automobile Security Alarm

If your car lacks a car security alarm, you are actually leaving a very expensive piece of your property out to be stolen each and every time you park it somewhere. Cars are definitely not inexpensive pieces of properties, sometimes worth quite a few thousands of dollars; your automobile is almost like a ripe apple ready for the picking without any definite security system.

A car security alarm is what you would call any device that ensures your car's protection as well as somehow also allowing you to know that your belonging is in trouble. Depending entirely on how much you intend to spend, your car security alarm may come in any of the various protection levels as well as techniques.

The various types of automobile alarm systems that you may come across in the market may rang from the inexpensive, simple ones that simply ring an alarm or notify you, or the more sophisticated hardcore protection systems like the engine immobilizing or the complete lock down mechanisms.

Depending entirely on how sophisticated your alarm system of choice is, you may either need professional help to help install the system or be able to easily install it yourself.

Even the most expensive of systems would in some cases be less proficient than a well placed cheaper system so put great thought while deciding what systems would be best according to your specifications.

Caution is however necessary to be provided herein terms of thoughtless investment, while getting a security system for your vehicle, make entirely sure that your car deserves and can easily home the system of your choice. Very expensive security systems would in some cases not be recommended for earlier models, whereas less than perfect security systems will not be great for the latest and expensive automobile you just bought.

5 Ways to Prevent Your Car from Being Stolen or Broken Into

1) Never leave valuables in plain sight – This may sound obvious, but many people tend not to seriously evaluate what a thief may consider to be valuable. Many thieves will break into a car simply to steal a GPS system you may have left stuck to your window. Thieves like this often attack many cars at once, often focusing on apartment complexes or night clubs. Even the simple act of leaving a gym bag in your back seat can tantalize a thief into breaking into your vehicle. Although the bag may have nothing in it but gym clothes, they may steal the bag in hopes of finding expensive sneakers, mp3 players, wallets or other valuable items. To be as safe as possible, always put bags in your trunk, and remove your GPS from your window every evening. If your GPS uses a mounting bracket or device, try to remove that as well, just to be extra careful.

2) Always lock your doors and shut your windows – Again, most people view this as a matter of course, but many car doors remain unlocked and far too many windows are left rolled down. While most vehicles can lock all doors with the press of a button, many still require manual locking. Some vehicles have separate locking mechanisms for their trunks, as well. Many thieves choose which car they will rob based on how easy it will be to enter, and by testing door handles in parking lots looking for an open door. Do not make it easy for them to victimize you. Keep all doors and other points of entry to your car secure. This includes windows, moonroofs and, for trucks, sliding rear windows.

3) Be careful where you park – Always try to park your car in an as highly trafficked and well lit area as possible. Parking near other cars and away from dark corners of a parking lot is always a good practice. If you are parking in a garage, try to park near the security station or by the attendant’s booth. If possible, try to park directly under a light post or other light source. Thieves will be less likely to commit a crime in the brightest area of the parking lot or structure they are targeting. If you are parking in an area that is new to you, always try to choose a spot in a driveway rather than on the street.

4) NEVER leave your car running and unattended – Have you ever left your car running while you ran into a gas station to pay for fuel? How about leaving the car on while you go into the Post Office to grab some stamps? One of the easiest ways a thief can steal your car is if you leave it running for them. Never leave your car running and unattended, no matter what the scenario. It only takes a couple of seconds for a thief to jump into your car and drive away with it and everything you had inside of it. There are far too many cases a year where a car is stolen in this very nature, sometimes with young children in the car at the time of the theft. To avoid becoming involved in such a horrendous incident, simply take your keys with you whenever you are unable to keep a direct eye on your vehicle.

5) Always use a security system – Security systems can be helpful for both stages of a stolen car incident – the before and the after. By utilizing visible cues of the presence of an alarm system such as flashing indicator lights or a Club on your steering wheel, the criminals will be less likely to break into your particular vehicle. Alarms that sound upon the opening of a car door and the breaking of a window are also helpful, as they can stop a criminal in between the act of breaking in and actually committing the theft. If your car is of substantial value to you, you should also consider affixing it with a GPS tracking device.
